The Ten Commandments in English:
The Ten Commandments are fundamental principles laid down in the Bible, guiding the lives of believers and separating them from ungodliness. These commandments are not just words; they are a way of life that demand commitment and obedience.
1. Thou shalt have nor worship no other gods before me. - Exalted to the throne of God, we are to place no other deities before Him.
2. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image. - The creation of images or sculptures is prohibited as it represents a false perception of God.
3. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain. - The Name of the Lord is sacred; using it in vain is a serious sin.
4. Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. - Dedicate one day in seven to rest and worship God as He commanded.
5. Honour thy father and thy mother. - Respect and care for our parents are required by God.
6. Thou shalt not kill. - Any form of murder is against God"s laws.
7. Thou shalt not commit adultery. - Infidelity is an abomination in God"s eyes.
8. Thou shalt not steal. - Stealing is against the laws of God.
9. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor. - Lying and speaking against others is a sin.
10. Thou shalt not covet. - Coveting or desiring what belongs to others is against God"s laws.
